9th SCRSS Russian Language Seminar

Booking opens on Monday 5 December. The seminar is organised by the Society for Co-operation in Russian & Soviet Studies (SCRSS) in collaboration with the St Petersburg Association for International Co-operation.
Seminar Programme: The two-day seminar offers a stimulating lecture programme in Russian, aimed at teachers, translators and interpreters of Russian, final-year undergraduates and graduates of Russian, and all those with an advanced-level comprehension of spoken Russian and an interest in contemporary Russia. The lecture programme has two parallel streams led by speakers direct from St Petersburg, Russia. The 'Russian language and linguistics' stream is led by Tatiana Piotrovskaya, Senior Lecturer, Department of English Philology and Language Culture Studies, Faculty of Philology, St Petersburg State University. The 'Russian literary and cultural scene' stream is led by Vadim Levental, writer (works include the Russian Booker Prize nominated novel 'Masha Regina', 2012), literary critic, book editor and political commentator. There are four 70-minute lectures per day, including discussion: choose from one of two options per session, moving from one stream to another throughout the day as you wish. Places are limited to 32 participants.
Booking Fees: ‘Early bird’ rate, payable by Friday 10 February 2017: £115 SCRSS members; £130 non-members. Standard rate, payable by Friday 24 March 2017: £130 SCRSS members; £150 non-members. The full fee is payable on booking (the refunds policy is available on the website and booking form). Payment by cheque or bank transfer only. An invoice can be provided where an organisation is paying for a participant.
